The Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul on October 13th, 2023 held a concertation meeting with the President of truck drivers trade union in Yaounde. The meeting, took place at the conference hall of MINAT. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the working conditions of Cameroonian drivers on the road and to discourage the use of protests to put forward grievances. During the meeting, Minister Atanga Nji cautioned the Syndicate President, Mr. Nyemeck Ntamack, and others on the disadvantages of carrying out a protest amidst social media nowadays. He called on the Syndicate drivers to exercise patience because Rome was not built in one day. The Minister emphasized that starting a protest with good intentions may not always lead to the intended outcome. He also mentioned their intention to start a national strike on October 19, 2023, by the Syndicates.The Secretary General, Yves Christian Edoa, and some Directors were also in attendance. Minister Atanga Nji concluded the meeting by reiterating that Cameroon is a country of peace and dialogue, thanks to the Head of State, President Paul Biya.
